How do I manually remove a contact(s) from an automation in DMH?
Updated over a week ago

In Digital Marketing Hub (DMH), contacts will enter your automations as soon as they match the triggering conditions you define and will proceed through your workflow until they reach the last step in your automation. However, there may be times when you wish to manually end their workflow before they reach the last step in the automation.

How to Stop an Automation for One Contact:

To stop an automation early for one contact, follow these steps on the contact's profile page.

When you stop an automation for a contact, the contact won't continue with any remaining actions (if there are any). They'll also be marked as "Completed" for your automation.

  1. Click "Contacts" on the left.

  2. Find the contact you want to remove from an automation and open their profile.

  3. Scroll down to the "Automations" section.

  4. Click the name of the automation you want to end for the contact.

  5. Click "End".

The contact will be taken out of the automation, and remember, this can't be undone.

How to Remove Multiple Contacts from an Automation in Bulk:

In this section, we will explain the process of finding and discontinuing an automation for a group of contacts through an advanced search and bulk editing.

When an automation is terminated, these contacts will not proceed with any remaining steps (if applicable). Furthermore, they will be designated as "Completed" within that specific automation.

  1. Navigate to "Contacts" on the left-hand side.

  2. Access the search field and choose "Advanced Search".

  3. The segment builder will become visible. Set the criteria to identify the group of contacts from whom you intend to withdraw automation, then select “Search”.

  4. When the contacts appear, it is advisable to confirm their accuracy before proceeding. Then, select “Edit All” to access the Bulk Editor.

  5. Choose "Remove from an automation" and select the automation from the dropdown menu.

  6. Execute the "Remove" command.

  7. Click the “Apply” button to initiate the process for your contacts.

The contacts will be excluded from the automation. Please be aware that this action is irreversible.
