Using Calculator Widgets

Often clients will want you to work through various scenarios with them. Widgets are simplified calculators that allow you to perform easy calculations across the following areas:

  • Repayments.

  • Extra Repayments.

  • Interest Only.

  • Property Fees.

  • Product Comparison.

  • Income Tax (including YTD).

Where do I find widget calculators?

To access the widget calculators:

  1. Open the Research app and select Widgets from the main left-hand menu.

  2. Use the top menu to navigate between the calculators

What do widgets calculate?

Widgets allow you to enter basic information to perform calculations. These include the following:

  • Loan Repayments. Enter the following details in order to calculate repayment amounts:

    • Loan Amount.

    • Loan Term.

    • Interest Rate.

    • Frequency

    • Interest Only

  • Extra Repayments. Enter the following details in order to calculate the decrease in a loan term, based on extra repayments:

    • Loan Amount.

    • Loan Term.

    • Interest Rate.

    • Frequency

    • Additional Payment.

  • Interest Only. Enter the following details in order to calculate the decrease in a loan term, based on Interest Only repayments.

    • Loan Amount.

    • Loan Term.

    • Interest Rate.

    • Frequency

    • Interest Only Term.

  • Property Fees. Enter the following details to work out Property Fees on a state by state basis:

    • State

    • Purchase Price.

    • Loan Amount.

    • Security Type.

    • Transaction Type.

    • Property Purpose.

    • First Home Buyer, Primary Residence and Foreign Buyer.

  • Product Comparison. If you already know some product details, this widget allows you to perform a quick product comparison (across two loans) by adjusting the following details:

    • Loan Amount.

    • Loan Terms.

    • Upfront Fees.

    • Monthly Fees.

    • Annual Fees.

    • Fixed Rate.

    • Fixed Term.

    • Variable Rate.

  • Income tax (Including YTD). This widget allows you to enter the Gross or Net income to calculate the income tax. Simply adjust the following. Note that the rates are inclusive of the Medicare levy of 2%:

    • Income

    • Payment Frequency.

    • Annualise

Note: When using the Annualise option you will be locked to dates within the same Financial Year.
