What is the Government Guarantee Declaration?
The Government Guarantee Declaration (also called the Home Buyer Declaration) is a mandatory form for clients using the Australian Government 5% Deposit Scheme. This form confirms the client's eligibility under the scheme and must be completed and returned before the loan can proceed through Apply Online.
Note: This form is not generated within Apply Online—your client must complete it separately and you will upload it as a supporting document.
Obtaining the form
The Government Guarantee Declaration form is available directly from the Australian Government First Home Buyers website. Follow these steps:
Visit the Australian Government First Home Buyers website to download the PDF.
Save the form to your computer.
Send the downloaded PDF to your client for completion.
Ask your client to fill out all required fields and return the signed form to you.
Important: Ensure the form is fully completed and signed by the client before proceeding to the next step.
Submitting the form in Apply Online
Once you receive the completed form from your client:
Log in to the Apply Online application.
Navigate to the Documents tab.
Upload the signed Government Guarantee Declaration to the appropriate section.
Verify the document has uploaded successfully before submitting the application.
Tip: If you're unsure which document section to use, check with your lender's BDM—they can confirm the correct placement for your loan type.
If you see an error
If the form is rejected or you encounter issues uploading the document, first check that:
The form is fully completed and signed
The PDF file is readable and not corrupted
You're uploading to the correct documents section
Contact your lender's BDM for guidance on placement, or email the helpdesk for technical upload issues.
