Transfer a Trail Book

Use this guide to understand how to transfer trail commissions within Connective or between aggregators, including requirements, approvals, and timeframes.

Use this guide to understand the steps, requirements, and approval conditions when transferring a trail book within Connective or between aggregators. Connective facilitates the transfer of loan account data but does not participate in the sale or negotiation of trail books.

A $300 + GST fee applies to all trail book transfers. This fee is billed to the party nominated by the transfer participants.

Important: Asset finance loans cannot be transferred between aggregators or between Connective members.

What you need to know before you start

  • Transfers are subject to internal checks and lender approval.

  • Some lenders do not approve external transfers.

  • Connective Home Loans cannot be transferred.

  • Processing time varies based on the size and complexity of the trail book.

Transfer a trail book within Connective

Use this process when transferring trail commissions between current Connective Full or Former members.

Complete the assignment agreement

Download and complete the Loan Book Assignment Agreement.
All directors of both parties must sign the agreement.

Submit the agreement and loan list

Email the signed agreement to [email protected], including a list of the loan accounts to be transferred.

Tip: Download your latest commission statement in Excel to confirm the loan accounts included.

Connective review and checks

Connective will complete internal checks before processing. Transfers may be delayed or declined if:

  • Connective fees or clawbacks are unpaid

  • A compliance review is in progress or a membership agreement was previously terminated

  • There is an active Tripartite agreement

  • Required director signatures are missing

Approval outcome

Connective will advise whether the transfer is approved or declined.

Transfer completion

If approved, loan accounts are transferred. Allow up to 10 business days, depending on size and complexity.

Confirmation

Both parties are notified once the transfer is complete.

Note: Transferred loans may change your Top 6 lenders listing in your Credit Guide. You can manually update this list if required.

Transfer a trail book from Connective to another aggregator

Use this process when transferring from a Connective Full or Former member to a broker with another aggregator.

Important: External transfers require lender approval. Lenders including ANZ, Macquarie, and Allianz do not approve external transfers.

Submit a transfer request

Provide a written request on company letterhead, signed by all current directors.
Email the request to [email protected], including a list of loan accounts.

Tip: Use your commission statement to confirm loan details before submitting.

Connective review and checks

Transfers may be delayed or declined due to:

  • Unpaid Connective fees or clawbacks

  • Ongoing compliance reviews or prior membership termination

  • An active Tripartite agreement

  • Missing director signatures

Approval outcome

Connective will approve or decline the request.

Receive lender consent letters

If approved, Connective will issue lender consent letters within 10 business days.
You must forward these letters to the new broker or aggregator.

Lender transfer process

The receiving broker or aggregator contacts lenders directly to complete the transfer.
Connective does not manage this stage.

Transfer a trail book from another aggregator to Connective

Use this process when receiving a trail book from a different aggregator.

Important: Transfers are subject to aggregator and lender approval.
The lender must be on Connective’s approved lender panel.

Submit authorisation letters

Email [email protected] with authorisation letters signed by the existing aggregator’s director.


Each letter must be addressed to the relevant lender and include the loan list.

Connective review and checks

Transfers may be delayed or declined if:

  • A compliance review is in progress or membership was previously terminated

  • Authorisation letters are incomplete or unsigned

  • A lender declines the transfer

Approval outcome

Connective will confirm whether the transfer is accepted.

Loan account transfer

Connective contacts lenders to request the transfer.
Trail payments may take up to three months to commence, subject to lender processing.
