Save time with Snippets in Mercury Nexus

Learn how to create and use Snippets to quickly insert templated text into Notes, Tasks, Emails and Compliance workflows.

Typing the same information repeatedly can slow down your workflow.

Snippets allow you to insert pre-written paragraphs of text into:

  • Notes

  • Emails

  • Tasks

  • Compliance Workflow

with just a few keystrokes.

What are Snippets?

Snippets are shortcut templates that store commonly used text.

They help you:

  • Maintain consistency in communication

  • Reduce typing time

  • Improve compliance wording accuracy

  • Standardise internal notes and client messaging

Create a Snippet template

Before using Snippets, you must create a Snippet template.

To create a Snippet:

  • Open the Admin app.

  • Select CRM Settings.

  • Click Snippets.

  • Click + Add.

  • Enter a Title for your Snippet.

  • Tick the relevant section(s):

    • Compliance

    • Tasks

    • Notes

  • Enter your template text in the content field.

Note
If you do not tick a specific section, the Snippet will default to being available in all three sections.

Use a Snippet

To insert a Snippet into:

  • Notes

  • Emails

  • Tasks

Simply type the @ symbol in the text field.

A list of available Snippets will appear.

  • Select the required Snippet.

  • The templated text will automatically insert into your message.

Best practice tips

  • Use clear and descriptive Snippet titles.

  • Regularly review Snippets for compliance accuracy.

  • Avoid overly long Snippets that reduce readability.

  • Create separate Snippets for internal notes and client-facing communication.
