Customising and uploading document templates (ACL holders)
Updated over a month ago

While we provide templates to make your life easier, ACL holders are able to upload their own templates to use for their documents.

How do I customise a document template?

You can easily customise one of our preloaded master templates. To do this:

  1. Open the Admin app and select Documents from the main left-hand menu.

  2. Navigate to the Merge Templates tab in the top menu.

  3. Highlight the relevant template and click the Download
Note. If you use the Download icon in the document preview window on the right-hand side, you will only download an uneditable PDF document.

  4. Edit the downloaded document and save. For instructions on how to use Document Merge Fields, click here.

  5. Once your changes are made, click +Add to upload it.

  6. The Add Document window will open. Click Browse to choose your document and then click Open.

  7. Select the Folder to upload the document and then click Choose.
โ€‹Note: If you select the Loans-Compliance folder, an additional drop-down will appear where you can select the document type - Credit Guide, Credit Proposal Disclosure, Provision of Referral Services or Quote.

  8. Once the upload is finished your document will be ready for use.

Which template is used when merging from Nexus?

Every Nexus user has access to a set of Connective merge documents which can populate data from your Nexus records. These are stored in the Admin App Documents section.

Where is only one master merge template in the corresponding document folder for the data you are merging. Nexus will always use that master template.

Example

If merging from the Funding Position there is only one template.

Where there are more than one master merge template Nexus will prompt the user to select the template to merge to.

Example

If merging to a Credit Guide, there are multiple master templates. Nexus must confirm which template to use.

If a custom non-master merge template is uploaded. Nexus will default to the custom non-master merge template. This is still the case where there are multiple master templates for that document such as the Credit Guide.

Example

The partner group has uploaded it's own version of the Funding Position merge template.

In order for Nexus to confirm which template to use when merging, an additional custom template must be present.

Example

Note: Merge templates must always be MS Word documents. Uploading .pdf will cause an error for the user when merging.
