Attaching a funding position to an Opportunity

Learn how to link a Funding Position calculation to an Opportunity in Mercury Nexus.

Mercury Nexus allows you to perform calculations independently while keeping your data linked to the correct Opportunity record.

You can attach a Funding Position calculation directly to an Opportunity to ensure accurate record keeping and reporting.

Attach a funding position to an Opportunity

To attach a Funding Position:

  • Open the CRM app.

  • Select Opportunities from the left-hand menu.

  • Open the relevant Opportunity record.

  • Select Calculations from the sub-menu.

  • Click the + Attach drop-down.

  • Select Funding Position.

  • Highlight the calculation you want to attach.

  • Click Choose.

The selected Funding Position will now be linked to the Opportunity.

Important behaviour to note

Note
If you attach a Funding Position that is already linked to another Opportunity, it will be moved from the original Opportunity to the new one.

Delete a Funding Position

If a Funding Position is no longer required:

  • Select the Funding Position under the Calculations tab.

  • Click Delete.

Important
Deleting a Funding Position is permanent and cannot be undone. If deleted in error, the calculation must be recreated manually.

Best practice tips

  • Confirm you are attaching the correct version before moving a Funding Position.

  • Avoid deleting calculations unless absolutely necessary.

  • Use clear naming conventions when creating Funding Positions to reduce confusion.
