Creating Client Portal Request Templates

Use this guide to create and manage Client Portal request templates.

What is a request template?

A request template is a reusable, pre-configured Client Portal request. You set the items up once, and brokers apply the template when they create a request for a client.

A template bundles five module types:

  • Documents to share: documents your client sees, like the credit guide.

  • DigiSign: documents that require a signature.

  • Client details and financials: basic info, address, and employment of each client, and their combined financials.

  • Questionnaires: questionnaires you would like to collect.

  • Doc requests: documents you would like to collect.

Templates you create are available to your own partner group. Templates marked as master are also visible to other partner groups.

Opening the template builder

  1. Open the Admin app.

  2. Go to CRM Settings.

  3. Open the Client Portal Templates tab.

  4. Select an existing template to edit it, or select + to create a new one.

Each template opens in its own tab. The left side, Template details, holds the name and settings. The right side, Request builder, is where you choose what the client completes.

Naming your template

In the Template details panel:

  1. Enter a Template name.

  2. Optionally add a Description to record what the template is for.

  3. Optionally set a Request name. This is the default name brokers see for the request, and they can change it later in the request itself.

Fields save as you enter them. There is no separate save button for the template details.

Building the request

In the Request builder panel, set up each module you want the client to complete.

Documents to share and DigiSign

  1. On the Documents to share or DigiSign card, select + Add document.

  2. Choose the documents from the picker and confirm.

Selected documents appear on the card and can be removed with the × next to each one.

Client details and financials

This module collects each client's personal details and combined financials. Use the toggles to control exactly what is asked for:

  • Personal details

  • Address

  • Employment

  • Properties and mortgages

  • Assets

  • Debts

  • Support payments and other income

  • Living expenses

Turn individual items on or off, or use Turn all off to clear them. The card shows how many are enabled, for example "8 of 8 enabled".

Questionnaires and Doc requests

  1. On the Questionnaires card, select + Add questionnaire, or on the Doc requests card, select + Add doc request.

  2. Choose the items from the picker and confirm.

Selected items appear as chips on the card and can be removed with the ×

Cloning a template

To reuse an existing template as a starting point, clone it. The clone is a new, separate template owned by your partner group. It is not a master template, even if the original was.

Removing a template

Removing a template takes it out of the list so it can no longer be applied. Requests already created from the template are not affected.

You can only edit, clone over, or remove templates owned by your own partner group. Master templates from other groups are visible but cannot be changed.

What happens next

Once a template is created, brokers in your partner group can apply it when creating a Client Portal request.
