Reply Tracking
Updated over a year ago

The "Reply Tracking" feature tracks contact responses to your campaigns.

Reply tracking can be enabled within the Campaign Summary page of your campaign. This is set per campaign. Reply tracking is disabled by default for all direct and automated campaigns.

When reply tracking is on, the reply data is stored in your ActiveCampaign account, including a list of contacts who responded and the content of their responses. This data can be found in your account's Reports section. Campaign responses are immediately routed to your 'From' email address after they are logged.

Reply Tracking allows you to:

1. Create Segments

Send follow-up messages to contacts who do or do not respond to your campaign or automated email.

2. Trigger an automation based on a reply

Configure automation to execute when someone responds to a campaign or automation email.

If reply tracking is turned on, each campaign that is sent out will have a unique "reply to" email address. The "reply to" email address will look similar to this:

Setting up DKIM will not change the "reply to" email address, although it may assist with the yellow "Be Careful With This Message" warning in Gmail. This address cannot be changed until you stop reply tracking.

Please note that Reply Tracking is always enabled in eMag and RBA campaigns. We cannot disable this for these campaigns.

Your “From” email address will remain unchanged. All subsequent responses will be delivered to your From email address.

How to enable reply tracking for a campaign

  1. When creating a campaign, scroll down to the "Options" section on the campaign's Campaign Summary page.

  2. Toggle the Reply Tracking on:

Once you've enabled reply tracking and are ready to launch your campaign, click "Send Now" to send it now or schedule it for a later time and date. When a response is received, it is immediately logged and forwarded to you.
