Using Questionnaires in Mercury Nexus

Use questionnaires in Mercury Nexus to collect client information and meet your Best Interests Duty obligations.

Updated this week

Use this guide to understand how questionnaires help you collect client information and support responsible lending in Mercury Nexus.

Best Interests Duty requires you to gather information about your client’s circumstances, objectives, and financial situation. Mercury Nexus simplifies this process by using questionnaires to capture this information consistently.

What are Questionnaires?

Questionnaires are used to collect important information about your client and their loan requirements.

Mercury Nexus includes a preloaded Master Questionnaire template. You can also create your own questionnaires to suit different loan types or business processes.

See [link: Creating and editing questionnaires in Mercury Nexus].

How Questionnaires are used

You can attach questionnaires to an opportunity and send them directly to your client to complete online.

Clients can:

  • Enter their information securely

  • Save progress and return later

  • Submit responses directly into Mercury Nexus

Once submitted, responses are stored against the opportunity for easy reference and compliance review.

Where to find Questionnaires

To access and manage questionnaires:

  1. Open the Admin app

  2. Select CRM settings from the left-hand menu

  3. Choose Questionnaires from the top menu

Using Questionnaires for compliance

Questionnaires support your compliance obligations by helping you:

  • Capture client objectives and requirements

  • Understand the client’s financial situation

  • Demonstrate compliance with Best Interests Duty and NCCP requirements

Important
Ensure questionnaires are completed and reviewed before progressing a loan to lodgement.
