Under current legislation, you must obtain client consent before sending certain disclosure documents electronically.
Mercury Nexus includes a built-in consent prompt within the Client Centre to help you meet this requirement.
When is consent required?
Consent is required when sending Disclosure Documents electronically.
The Client Centre automatically prompts the client to provide consent when disclosure documents are enabled.
Enable the disclosure consent prompt
To activate the consent process:
Open the CRM app.
Select Opportunities from the left-hand menu.
Open the relevant Opportunity record.
Select Client Centre from the sub-menu.
Use the Disclosure Document drop-down to select the required documents.
Open the relevant Client Centre request.
Confirm documents are attached
Ensure the selected disclosure documents appear under the Home Page section of the Client Centre request.
If they do not appear:
Click Attach Existing.
Select and attach the relevant document.
What the client sees
The next time the client logs into the Client Centre, they will see a consent prompt asking whether they agree to receive disclosure documents electronically.
Once the client makes their selection:
Their response is automatically recorded in the Notes section of the Opportunity record.
If the client declines electronic delivery
If the client requests to receive documents via email:
Send the documents promptly.
Retain a copy of the email in the Notes section of the Opportunity.
Ensure the Credit Proposal Disclosure is signed.
Confirm the Risk and Insurance Declaration is completed.
