Use this guide to understand how opportunities work in Mercury Nexus and how to manage a client’s loan application in one place.

Mercury Nexus is designed to save you time by storing all client, loan, communication, and compliance information in a single, accessible record.

Important
Mercury Nexus now uses the term Broker instead of Agent, Advisor, Loan Writer, or Associate. This ensures consistent language across the platform.


What is an opportunity?

An opportunity in Mercury Nexus represents a loan or potential loan.

Each opportunity record provides a complete overview of your client’s loan application, including personal details, loan information, documents, communication history, and compliance records.

You use an opportunity to track a loan from initial enquiry through to settlement.


Where to find your opportunities

You can access opportunities in several ways:

  • From the CRM section in the left-hand menu

  • From a linked People record via the Opportunities tab

  • From the Kanban board by double-clicking the opportunity name

What you can manage within an opportunity

Each opportunity includes a left-hand sub-menu that guides you through the loan workflow.

Opportunity details

Capture the core information about the loan, including purpose, structure, and status.

Contacts

Add existing contacts or create new ones linked to the opportunity.

Financials

Record your client’s:

  • Living expenses

  • Assets and liabilities

  • Employment details

  • Other income

This information supports servicing and compliance requirements.

Notes

Record all client interactions.
Outgoing emails and SMS messages are automatically saved here.

Tasks

Create and manage tasks related to the opportunity to stay on track.

Attachments

Upload and store documents related to the loan, including compliance documentation.

Notepad

Use this space for private notes or reminders. Content here is for your reference only.

Client centre

Allow clients to:

  • Enter personal information

  • Answer questions

  • Upload documents securely

Doc centre

Send secure document requests to clients for supporting evidence.

Questionnaires

Store completed questionnaires linked to the loan.

Calculations

Save servicing or scenario calculations completed for the deal.

Products

Record and manage selected loan products.

Compliance

Use compliance prompts to ensure you meet your Best Interests Duty and National Consumer Credit Protection (NCCP) obligations.

Important
Keep compliance sections up to date to remain audit-ready at all times.

Lodgements

View an audit log of attempted Apply Online and Loanapp submissions.

An opportunity brings together all loan-related information, including:

  • Applicant and contact records

  • Loan details and status

  • Client communications (email, SMS, notes)

  • Progress tracking from lodgement to settlement

  • NCCP and Best Interests Duty records

This ensures everything related to the loan is stored in one place.
