Use this guide to configure the Client Details and Financials module within a Client Portal request in Mercury Nexus. This module allows you to collect structured personal and financial information directly from your clients.

Before accessing Request Builder, ensure contacts have been configured correctly in Basic Settings, including household structure and applicant selection.

You must configure this module while the request is in Draft status.

Access the Client Details and Financials module

  1. Open the relevant Opportunity.

  2. Select Client Portal from the side navigation.

  3. Double-click the request to open it.

  4. Select Request Builder from the left-hand panel.

  5. Locate Client Details and Financials.

  6. Enable the module using the master toggle in the top right

Configure personal detail sections

The top section controls which applicants complete:

  • Personal details

  • Address history

  • Employment history

For each section:

  1. Tick the checkbox beside the applicant’s name.

  2. Untick applicants who do not need to complete that section.

Each applicant completes their own personal and employment details.

Use this to:

  • Avoid duplication

  • Exclude non-borrowers where appropriate

  • Control data collection for guarantors

Assign financial modules

Financial information is completed by one selected applicant within the request.

Locate Assign Financials Modules.

  1. Use the dropdown menu.

  2. Select the applicant responsible for completing financial details.

Only the selected applicant will see and complete:

  • Properties and mortgages

  • Assets

  • Debts

  • Support payments and other income

  • Living expenses

This prevents duplicate financial entries across applicants within the same request.

Important
Financial modules can only be assigned to one applicant per request. Confirm the correct applicant is selected before sending.

Enable or disable financial sections

You can control which financial sections are required.

For each section:

  • Toggle Enable module on or off.

Available modules include:

  • Properties and Mortgages

  • Assets

  • Debts

  • Support Payments and Other Income

  • Living Expenses

Only enabled sections will appear in the Client Portal.

Understand how clients complete this module

When the request is sent:

  • Each applicant receives their own dedicated portal link.

  • They see only the sections assigned to them.

  • Completion contributes to the overall request progress percentage.

If multiple applicants are included in the request:

  • Personal details are completed individually.

  • Financials are completed by the assigned applicant only.

What you cannot change after sending

Once the request moves out of Draft status:

  • Personal detail assignments cannot be changed

  • Financial assignment cannot be changed

  • Financial modules cannot be enabled or disabled

If changes are required:

  • Close the request, or

  • Create a new request

Best practice before sending

Before sending the request:

  • Confirm the correct applicant is assigned to financials

  • Ensure all required financial modules are enabled

  • Exclude unnecessary sections to reduce client workload

  • Confirm employment and address sections are enabled where required
