How do I clone an ApplyOnline (AOL) application?

This article outlines how to clone an application in ApplyOnline (AOL)

Updated over 2 months ago

There are various situations where you may need to clone your ApplyOnline (AOL) application, such as submitting it to a different lender or fixing an error on submission. This guide outlines methods to easily clone your application.

How to Clone an ApplyOnline (AOL) Application

Please note the following important information

  1. Cloning an application does not save broker details to prevent accidental submissions under the wrong broker. Admin staff cloning an application must re-enter the broker details and ensure the correct broker code is used.

  2. ApplyOnline (AOL) may cache outdated broker codes entered by admin staff. Brokers with admin staff drafting loans for multiple loan writers must carefully verify that the correct broker code is used. Brokers should review all details while the application is in draft status and personally press the SUBMIT button to ensure accuracy.

  3. The Clone will be linked to the user account that ran the Clone and the email back channel notifications will be sent to this account. It is recommended that the Broker runs the clone.

There are two ways you can clone an ApplyOnline (AOL) application:

Method 1: Clone the application directly within ApplyOnline (AOL)

  1. Click the Actions link located top-right of the page and then click on Clone

  2. Select a Reason, enter comments (if required), select the Lender, and then click Clone application to create the new application

  3. Your new application will have a new ApplyOnline ID

Method 2: Remove the ApplyOnline application number (MER number) inside the Opportunity within the Mercury CRM

To remove the ApplyOnline ID number in your opportunity within Mercury:

  1. Open the opportunity in the Mercury CRM

  2. Remove the value in the ApplyOnline ID field, located in the Details section

  3. Click Submit to Apply Online to create a new ApplyOnline ID application number (also known as MER- number)

How do I Link a Cloned ApplyOnline (AOL) Application to an Opportunity in Mercury?
