Important Note: We have updated various fields and labels to ensure you have a consistent experience in Mercury Nexus. Instead of individually referring to roles as Agent, Advisor, Loan Writer, and Associate, we will now universally use the term "Broker." This change will simplify your interactions across Mercury Nexus.
Use this guide to resolve errors that stop you from launching or submitting an Apply Online (AOL) application from an opportunity in Mercury Nexus.
If clicking Apply Online does not open a new application, or if the button is greyed out, required fields are missing in the opportunity, contact, or broker profile.
Follow the checks below in order.
If Apply Online does not open
If you click the Apply Online button and no new AOL application opens, confirm the following details are complete.
Check asset details
Incomplete asset data is the most common cause of launch issues.
Navigate to your opportunity record.
Select Financials from the left menu.
Open the Assets β Other tab.
Ensure:
The Type field is selected
Each asset has a value greater than $0
Important: All assets must have a value greater than $0. Applications will not launch if asset values are blank or zero.
For motor vehicles, also confirm:
Type
Year
Make
Check contact address details
Open the relevant contact record.
Select Addresses from the left menu.
Ensure an Address type has been selected and completed.
Check employment details
Open the contact record.
Select Employment from the left menu.
Ensure the following fields are completed:
Employment type
Income frequency
Check income and expense amounts
All income and expense fields must contain a value greater than $0.00.
Zero or blank values will prevent submission to Apply Online.
Tip: Enter $0.01 where appropriate if a field is mandatory but not applicable.
If the Submit to Apply Online button is greyed out
If the Submit to Apply Online button is disabled, additional fields are still required in the opportunity.
In the Details section of the opportunity, confirm you have assigned:
Broker
Admin
Lender
If you receive a postal address error
If you receive an error when submitting to Apply Online referencing postal address details, your broker profile may be incomplete.
To resolve this:
Log in to Mercury.
Open the Admin app.
Select My details from the left menu.
Enter both:
Office address
Postal address
Save your changes and retry submission.
First-time access error
If this is your first time accessing Apply Online and you receive a generic error, the integration may not yet be activated.
Contact the Mercury Helpdesk for assistance.
Important system update
Note: Mercury Nexus now uses the term Broker instead of Agent, Advisor, Loan Writer, or Associate. This change ensures consistency across the platform.
