Customising statuses and status groups in Mercury Nexus

Learn how to customise opportunity statuses and status groups to match your business workflow in Mercury Nexus.

You have worked hard to create a process that works for your business and the last thing you want is to change it to suit your broker platform. Mercury Nexus allows you to customise Statuses and Status Group to reflect the processes you have in place.

Edit opportunity statuses

Use the Status Editor to add, delete, rename, or reorder statuses within an Opportunity Type.

Access the status editor

  • Open the Admin app.

  • Select CRM Settings from the left-hand menu.

  • Click Status Editor in the top menu.

  • Use the drop-down to select the relevant Opportunity Type.

Add a new status

  • Click + Add.

  • Enter the status name.

  • Select the appropriate Status Group from the drop-down list.

  • Drag and drop using the grip dots to position the status correctly.

Delete a status

  • Highlight the status.

  • Click Delete.

Important
You must log out of Mercury Nexus and log back in for changes to take effect.

Rename a status

  • Open the Admin app.

  • Select CRM Settings.

  • Navigate to Status Editor.

  • Highlight the relevant status.

  • Double-click the name to edit it.

Important
Log out and back in to apply the updated status name.

Add or manage status groups

Status Groups help you organise statuses logically. They also improve filtering and reporting.

Access status groups

  • Open the Admin app.

  • Select CRM Settings.

  • Navigate to List Editor in the top menu.

  • Highlight Status Group.

Add a new status group

  • Click + Add.

  • Enter a name for the new list item (Status Group).

  • Click OK.

Tip
Status Groups are sorted alphabetically. Use numbers (for example, 01, 02, 03) to control display order.

Rename a status group

  • Highlight the status group.

  • Double-click the name to edit it.

Delete a status group

  • Highlight the status group.

  • Click Delete.

Important
Log out of Mercury Nexus and log back in for changes to apply.

Before editing statuses or status groups:

  • Confirm reporting impacts with your team.

  • Check whether automated workflows rely on specific statuses.

  • Ensure all brokers understand the updated workflow.
