Use this guide to resign a broker from your business through the Membership Centre in Mercury Nexus. You will also learn what notice periods apply for Connective Credit Representatives and Australian Credit Licence (ACL) holders, and how to record additional information to support the resignation.
Starting a resignation
A principal owner can initiate a resignation at any time through the Membership Centre.
Open Membership Centre in Mercury Nexus.
Select Resign a Broker.
Under Active Brokers, find the broker you want to resign.
Select Start resignation.
Complete the resignation form, including:
Resignation date
Separation letter – Yes or No
New aggregator
Notice period acknowledgement
Connective Credit Representatives require a minimum 30-day notice period
ACL holders require a minimum 2-day notice period
Comment – Add context, including whether you agree to an early resignation or require a specific end date.
Select Submit.
Cancelling a resignation
You can cancel a resignation if it was started in error or circumstances change.
Open Membership Centre in Mercury Nexus.
Select Resign a Broker.
Under Resignations in Progress, find the broker.
Select Cancel resignation.
Select Submit.
What happens next
Once the resignation is submitted, the broker may be required to complete specific offboarding steps depending on their status.
The broker will also receive an automated email with further information about their resignation after the submission is processed.
