How to use Loan Reviews in the CRM

Currently in Pilot

Use this guide to keep your clients' lending under active review without leaving the opportunity. Loan Reviews lets you record each loan's rate, discount and repayment over time, see the client's equity and LVR position at a glance, and capture what came out of every review, so you can spot repricing and refinance opportunities and act on them before the client goes looking elsewhere.

Loan Reviews is the next version of Rate Reviews. If you have used Rate Reviews, everything you did there you can still do here. This page covers the whole feature from scratch, including what is new.

Important: Remember your responsible lending obligations. Document the steps you take for each review. See the compliance article on rate reductions, responsible lending and BID requirements.

What is a Loan Review?

A Loan Review is a structured record, per loan account, of a review you have done: the rate, discount and repayment at a point in time, plus what you decided or achieved (the outcome). Kept together on the opportunity, these records build a clear history of a client's loans and prompt your next follow-up, so your reviews are proactive rather than reactive.

Opening Loan Reviews

  1. Open the client's loan opportunity.

  2. In the opportunity's side navigation, open the Loan Reviews tab. The tab appears on home-loan and commercial-loan opportunities. If you do not see it, you may not be in the Loan Reviews pilot yet, and you will see a Rate Reviews tab instead.

  3. The screen lists the loan accounts linked to this opportunity. If a loan is not showing, it is not linked yet. Add it from Product Comparison, or link it in the Products section of the opportunity, then come back.

Checking the Equity and LVR Overview

At the top of the screen, the Equity and LVR Overview summarises the client's position across the opportunity:

  • LVR, Equity at 80%, and Total Equity.

  • A property summary: estimated value, value at settlement, purpose, and security type.

  • Update Equity Position, which opens a calculator so you can refresh the equity and LVR figures.

Use this to quickly see where there is usable equity, or where an LVR has improved enough to justify a repricing conversation.

Note: The Equity and LVR Overview is new in Loan Reviews and was not part of Rate Reviews.

Reading the Loan Reviews table

Each linked loan appears as a row, grouped under two headings:

  • Loan Details on Settlement: the loan as it started, showing Product, Term, Effective Rate and Repayment. The product cell also shows the loan amount, LVR at settlement and settlement date.

  • Loan Review Results: the outcome of your latest review, showing New Effective Rate, New Repayment, Review Status and Actions.

Loan type is shown as Fixed, Intro or Variable, and repayment type as P/I or I/O. As with Rate Reviews, fixed-rate loans are shown but generally cannot be reviewed. Reviews apply to variable loans.

Doing a review

  1. On the loan's row, click Review in the Actions column.

  2. In the review form you can:

    • See the loan's key metrics for context.

    • Choose an Outcome from "Select An Outcome":

      • Rate reviewed

      • Repriced with current lender

      • Refinance to new lender

      • Lender declined repricing

      • No change (shows as N/C against the loan)

    • Set the Rate Review Date.

    • Enter the Rate, Discount and Repayment for each portion (split) of the loan. The Effective Rate calculates automatically when a discount is applied.

    • Add Notes to record what was discussed and agreed.

  3. Click Save Rate Review.

The review is saved against the loan and appears under Loan Review Results.

Note: The feature is called Loan Reviews, but each individual review is still labelled "Rate Review" inside the form, for example "Add Rate Review" and "Save Rate Review".

Saving a draft and resuming later

You do not have to finish a review in one sitting:

  • A saved but unfinished review shows a Draft badge in the Review Status column.

  • To pick it back up, click Resume on that row. This reopens the same review rather than starting a new one.

  • A completed review shows its review date instead of the Draft badge.

Note: Draft status and Resume are new in Loan Reviews.

Setting a follow-up task

From a loan's menu, choose Add task to schedule your next review. Pick the future date and save. The task appears in the opportunity's task list, so your next review is prompted automatically.

Editing or deleting a review

Use the loan's menu to Edit rate review or Delete a review.

Getting the most out of Loan Reviews

  • Review every variable loan after settlement, and revisit when equity or LVR moves.

  • Record an outcome on every review. It is what turns the table into a pipeline of repricing and refinance opportunities.

  • Write clear notes on each conversation, and always set a follow-up task.

  • Use the Equity and LVR Overview to prioritise which clients to contact.

Doing this consistently protects trail, keeps clients from drifting to a competitor, and gives you a defensible record of the service you have provided.

Troubleshooting

  • A loan is not listed. It is not linked to the opportunity. Link it in the Products section, or via Product Comparison, then reopen the tab.

  • You see "Rate Reviews", not "Loan Reviews". You may not be in the pilot yet.

If you see an error: If something will not load, try again, or do a hard reload (Windows or Linux Ctrl + Shift + R, Mac Cmd + Shift + R). If it persists, the tab may temporarily show the previous Rate Reviews view.
