How to enable multi-factor authentication in your Digital Marketing Hub account
Updated over a week ago

Accessing your Digital Marketing Hub (DMH) account is more secure with multi-factor authentication (MFA).

Once enabled, logging into your account will require two forms of identification:

  1. your username and password

  2. a six-digit verification code generated by an authentication app on your mobile device or via SMS text message.

Multi-factor authentication protects data in your DMH account and can prevent unauthorised users from logging in.

How multi-factor authentication works

MFA can be enabled and disabled for individual users or the entire account by users in the Admin group.

Non-admin account users can enable or disable MFA for their individual account login.

First-time login: Users will need to have an authentication app installed on their mobile device in order to scan a QR code that displays during the account login process the first time they log in.

After scanning the QR code, the user's authentication app will generate a six-digit verification code, which they must enter into their login screen. Note: Using a QR Scanner app will not generate a verification code.

Users will gain access to their DMH account after entering the verification code.

For the multi-factor authentication to take effect, users must first log out and then log back into their DMH account.

If you disable and then re-enable multi-factor authentication for your account login, you will need to rescan the QR code with the authentication app on your mobile device.

Supported authentication apps

You can use any of the following authentication apps on your mobile device to access your MFA-enabled DMH account:

How to set up multi-factor authentication

If you are an account admin, you can enforce MFA for all account users or enable it on an individual basis. You can enable MFA for your own account if you are not an account admin.

If your admin enforces MFA on the entire account, you will be unable to change your own MFA user settings.

There are three ways to set up multi-factor authentication:

Account Admins: How to turn on multi-factor authentication for all account users

  1. On the left menu, select "Settings," then "Security."

  2. On the Security page, two toggles will appear. Click the "Set up for myself" toggle to set it to the "On" position.

Account Admins: How to turn on multi-factor authentication for specific account users

You can enable multi-factor authentication for individual users on your DMH account if you are an account admin. This is an alternative to making it a requirement for all account users.

Individual users who have enabled MFA will then need to enter a verification code in addition to their login and password to access their accounts.

To begin, follow these steps:

  1. Click "Settings" then click "Users and Groups."

  2. Find the user for whom you want to enable multi-factor authentication and then click "Edit."

  3. The "Edit User" modal window will appear. Click the "Multi-Factor Authentication" toggle to turn it on.
