Why Mercury and Digital Marketing Hub (DMH) contact numbers differ
DMH only receives contacts that meet specific requirements in Mercury Nexus. This ensures your email marketing complies with communication preferences, permission rules, and data quality standards.
A contact will sync from Mercury Nexus CRM to DMH only if they meet all of the following criteria:
Has a valid email address
'No Email Marketing' box is not ticked
Email address has not bounced
'Add to DMH' box is ticked
Note: If a contact shares the same email address with another contact, only the first one will sync to DMH.
Important: DMH receives data one way from Mercury Nexus. Contact changes made in DMH do not sync back to Mercury.
βHowever, unsubscribes do sync back. When a client unsubscribes in DMH, their Mercury record is updated to reflect this.
How to identify which contacts will sync to Digital Marketing Hub
Follow these steps in Mercury Nexus to view the contacts that meet the DMH sync criteria:
Log in to Mercury Nexus.
Select the CRM tile.
In People, apply the following filters:
Has email = True
No Email Marketing = False
Email Bounce = False
Add to DMH = True
The list will automatically update to show all contacts that meet these criteria.
This will display all contacts in your main branch who meet the requirements to sync to your DMH account.
Mercury Nexus cannot filter out duplicate email addresses in the People view, so the search results provide an estimate, not a final DMH count. If multiple contacts share the same email, only the first instance will sync to DMH.
You can generate a report of duplicate contacts. See this article: Locating duplicate people records.
