Identify contacts not assigned to Digital Marketing Hub or categories

Learn how to find contacts who are not assigned to Digital Marketing Hub (DMH) or marketing categories in Mercury Nexus.

Updated over a week ago

If contacts are not assigned correctly, they may miss important updates and campaigns sent from your Digital Marketing Hub account.

Why this matters

Contacts must:

  • Have the DMH checkbox selected, and/or

  • Be assigned to the appropriate marketing categories

Without this setup, contacts will not receive communications sent through Digital Marketing Hub.

There are two ways to identify unassigned contacts.

Identify contacts not assigned to DMH

Open Mercury Nexus CRM.

Select the People tab from the left-hand menu.

Click Add filter.

From the dropdown, select DMH.

Set the filter to False.

You will now see a filtered list of contacts who do not have the DMH checkbox selected.

Review this list and update the relevant contacts as required.

Identify contacts assigned to specific categories

To ensure contacts are assigned to marketing categories, you must check each category individually.

Open Mercury Nexus CRM.

Select the People tab.

Use the Categories field to select a category from the dropdown list.

Repeat this process for each relevant category to confirm your contacts are correctly categorised.

Assign contacts to categories

Once you have identified contacts who are not assigned to DMH or categories, you can update them in bulk or individually.

See Assign categories in Mercury Nexus for step-by-step instructions.

Tip
Regularly review your DMH and category assignments to keep your marketing lists accurate and compliant.
