This article explains how to assign contacts to MM categories* in Mercury Nexus so they are identified in Digital Marketing Hub (DMH) to receive desired communications such as RBA updates, eMag (Premium subscribers) and SMS messages.
Contacts can be assigned to a category in groups or individually.
How to assign a group of contacts
From the Mercury Nexus home screen, click on the CRM tile
Click on ‘People’ from the left-hand menu
Click the magnifying glass on the left of the green + button to show all contacts.
Highlight the individuals by holding down the ‘Ctrl’ button and selecting each person
Once the group of people has been highlighted, select ‘Categories’ from the toolbar at the top of the screen.
A drop-down of actions will appear, select ‘Move Selected to…’ to only add those people who are highlighted or select ‘Move All to…’ to add everyone visible in the list.
A new action window will appear with marketing category options to select. Select the category or categories you want to add this group of people to. For example, ‘MM - rba’ for the monthly RBA announcement.
Select ‘Choose’.
How to assign contacts individually
Contacts can be assigned to Digital Marketing Hub categories by opening each individual contact. This takes longer, but the individual’s contact data can be reviewed and confirmed that it is up-to-date as well as the ‘Relationship Manager’ field (this determines who the communication is sent from). Find out how to manage the ‘Relationship Manager’ here.
From the Mercury Nexus home screen, click on the CRM tile
Select ‘People’ from the left-hand menu
Use the ‘Search’ field to look up the individual contact
Once the contact is located, double-click on their name
On their contact page, see the ‘Categories’ field
Select the categories to be assigned to this contact. In this example, the ‘MM - rba’ and ‘MM - sms’ boxes are ticked (see below)
Click ‘OK’ to confirm (see below).
Note: To check contacts have been correctly assigned to the MM - eMag, MM - rba or MM - sms categories, select the relevant category folder under ‘Categories’ in Mercury and you will see a list of all contacts that have been assigned to the category (see image below).
*MM categories are specific categories in Mercury for marketing and Digital Marketing Hub activity.
