Sending single SMS text messages from Mercury Nexus

First ensure that your mobile number has been registered in Mercury Nexus via the following wiki instructions here.

Mercury Nexus is designed to save you time. We don’t want you to have to spend all day switching from your computer to your phone and vice-a-versa. So, we’ve made it easy for you to send SMS text messages from Mercury Nexus, free of charge.

By default, SMS messages are sent from a Connective phone number. If you would like to register your personal number so that it is your number that appears on the recipient's phone, rather than the generic Connective mobile number, please contact the Mercury HelpDesk with your name, CA number and mobile number.

Note: You can only send single SMS from Mercury Nexus, we do not currently have the option to send bulk sms.

How do I send a SMS message from Mercury Nexus?

  1. Open the CRM App and select People from the main left-hand menu.

  2. Open the relevant People.

  3. Click on the Send SMS speech bubble icon next to the Mobile field.

  4. Enter the message you want to send via SMS. Note: the maximum SMS length is 160 characters.

  5. Click Send.

SMS messages are automatically saved against the People record, in the Notes section, giving you easy access to all communication with your client.

What is the maximum character limit for SMS text messages sent from Mercury Nexus?

When utilizing Mercury Nexus to send SMS text messages, please note that there is a limitation of 612 standard GSM characters. If special characters or emojis are included, the character count is reduced to 268.

How to add Tags into Auto-Action SMS

When creating SMS Auto-Actions we have some available tags you can use to pull in data into the SMS.

The available tags are:

FirstName

FullName

User_Mobile

Lender

Lender_Reference

Loan Amount

Date Settled

Broker

Opportunity Name

Primary Applicant First Name

Primary Applicant Full Name

Applicant First Names

Applicant Full Names

Current Date

Current Status

Status Notes

Sender First Name

Sender Salutation

To add a tag into the SMS template

  1. Click the Insert Tag drop down

  2. Select the tag from the list

Note: You cannot just type the listed tag, it must be selected from drop down.
